Training Philosophy

“They who ask questions may seem to be fools for a moment. They who never ask questions are fools forever”
( Confucius )

All trainers and consultants at Lake Consult must understand and commit themselves to the following training principles:

Every lecturer needs to have excellent subject matter expertise.

Knowing the subject in detail and having acquired practical, on-the-job experience is prerequisite for being a LaKe trainer.

Subject matter expertise is not enough.

Any LaKe trainer must proof to possess technical training skills either through obtaining an industry wide accepted trainer certification or by being tested and approved by panel of experts.

Every lecture or training needs to be thoroughly prepared.

There is no bigger mistake for a lecturer, teacher, or trainer than not to prepare for his training. Since each training has different participants with different individuals and in order to achieve the training objectives it is necessary to prepare each training individually.

We believe in admitting errors and mistakes.

Nobody knows all. Nobody is  perfect. So mistakes and errors need to be admitted, discussed and corrected.  Not knowing the answer to every question is not a catastrophe. Pretending to know the answer is.
However, every question must be correctly answered in the end.

Every question is a good question.

In order to achieve the training objectives students need to actively participate in a training. We encourage participation in all forms and especially do believe that all questions are good questions. Students who ask questions are actively searching for knowledge and our trainers are there to guide them and to assist them in obtaining this knowledge.

The trainer sets the example.

To create a positive learning environment, the trainer must show that he/she is interested in the students, in the training, in the subject, in new ideas and that he/she is open to questions. To motivate participants the trainer needs to show that he/she has own, genuine and enthusiastic interest in the training and in the individual students.

Every student achieves the training objective.

By respecting the individuality of each student and by creating a suitable and positive learning environment we ensure that each student reaches the training objectives.

We believe in respect and tolerance.

We respect every single student as an individual with individual knowledge, capacities, opinions and ideas.
